Meet Isaias Fernandez, another great coffee farmer we’ve been introduced to by our exporting partner in Honduras. This coffee comes from Isaias’ farm, La Fincona, which is located in the Las Flores village of Santa Barbara.

“Since we were very young, my brothers and I helped my grandfather and my father on the farm. They were the first to work with coffee in this region; We were the right arm that allowed my father to grow in the coffee business, well, the coffee business allowed us to live with dignity.

When I was 20 years old, I went to work in the city to help the family; 3 years later my father gave me a part of his farm as an inheritance, but I continued working in the city and saved money to return.

It was until 2010 that I returned to work full time on the farm, I was encouraged to come because my brothers were already selling their coffee on the specialty coffee market to a coffee buyer; thanks to the support of San Vicente mill and after making themselves known in the Cup of Excellence Competition. Thanks to that they were pioneers, I was able to start in this world of specialty coffees as of 2014.”
